Our chapter was begun through the efforts of Iva Sutherland, Seattle Chapter. Several prospective members were contacted and a meeting was called on September 23, 2006 at First Christian Reformed Church in Lynden. Our first Executive comprised: Helen Taylor, President; Jane Morgan, Treasurer; and Ken Smith, Secretary. New members were: Carol Assink, Stephanie Belanger, Becky Bolte, Robin Gosney, Anne Grainger, Kaylene Hoglund, Nancy H. Hughes, Jane Morgan, Millie Sheppard, Ramona Villani, and Betty Smith. We discussed Ken’s book entitled John, No Greater Prophet.
Our second meeting was held on February 17, 2007 at Northlake Community Church, hosted by Millie Sheppard. We discussed what to do with books we no longer need. Neal Kuyper, of Presbyterian Counseling Service in Seattle, has a book sending ministry to Kenya. Our December meeting was held at Oak Harbor Presbyterian, Nancy’s church, followed by King Mountain in February, Jane’s church.
